Some weeks ago, I had ordered a simple component tester for checking transistors and capacitors mainly. It seemed to work fine, but attaching it to my regulated power supply every time was a bit awkward.

So, when I found a matching casing in my "electronic shelves" the idea of making it a standalone device was born.

I added a 230AC - 12DC converter, carved out some spaces in the casing with my Dremel and glued everything together. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but works great like this.

My working place, still with the too weak LED lights.

The carvings in the casing are done.

The finished casing.

The device in action.
